My name is Darryl Gouder, born and raised in Malta, a small island in the Mediteranean located just below Sicily. I am 24 years old and got my first taste of programming back in 2005 - using Pascal for my first Computer Studies course. What I expected to be just another school subject ended up as a passion and I have not stopped coding ever since, eventually doing a BSc. in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Malta, graduating in 2014 and following that, a MSc. in Scientific Computing at the University of Warwick, graduating in January 2016.
My main programming languages are Python, C++ and Java, having used them for a variety of projects. This website is itself a Django web app that uses the Material Design Lite templating scheme for its aesthetic design. I've also used various Python libraries such as Pandas, SciPy, Jinja2, NumPy, SQLAlchemy and many more. I have used C++ for a lot of academic coursework and my largest repository on GitHub (Solstice, my physically based renderer) is written entirely in C++. I have also dabbled in CUDA, OpenMP, OpenMPI and many other C++ libraries. I started using Java when I was 15 years old and also used the language both academically and professionaly. I have used many other frameworks and languages, however their use has been more sporadic - more detailed information can be found on my CV.
